A SIMPLE LASER (in R2.5)
Instead of building the laser using a geometric model, trying to map
it in different and clever ways, we'll simply use a beam of light like
a real laser. The idea of a laser in the real world is that light particles/waves
leave an emitter in such a tight, linear beam that it will stay virtually
parallel for an extremely long distance. The ideal laser will never "cone
out" the way 3DS MAX's spotlights do. Even if we squeeze the cone
down to a very tight angle, the spotlight will never realistically represent
a laser beam
BILLOWING SMOKE
Billowing smoke can be made with a particle system. Each particle becomes
a chunk of smoke that blends with the other particles (chunks of smoke)
around it. You can control the particles' direction, speed and size, so
you can make the smoke go anywhere, move at any speed, and dissipate whenever
you want
BUBBLES
you ever need to create bubbles for an animation, and would like to
do it without spending a fortune on a plug-in that will animate hundreds
of spheres that are texture mapped - then this tutorial will be a sound
solution. 3D Studio Max has many powerful tools, that when used correctly
will give surprising results. For this tutorial, I'll show you how to
use the snow particle generator and a simple texture map to create convincing
bubbles
Campfire
A campfire is made with the aid of a helper object. Helpers are non-rendering
objects that assist in a number of tasks. In this case, it will allow
you to place a fire effect in a particular place in order to make a campfire.
Chunky Explosion
In this tutorial, you'll learn how to use the PArray particle system
to blow up an object. Unlike an explosion with the Bomb space warp, the
particles will have a thickness.
Cigarette Smoke
Technique for creating realistic cigarette smoke streams.
Cigarette smoke
For this tutorial I assume you got a fair bit of brain and experience
with 3D Studio MAX.
Create a Tornado in 3ds max 4
Hi, I'm finally done with my first 3ds max- tutorial and I've tried
to do it as easy to follow as possible. Well, you got to have some 3ds
max experience.

model and animate a realistic looking tornado
Creating Fire in 3DSMAX
First of all go the create panel and click on sphere or whatever object
you've chosen and drag it out into the viewport. Now hit the animate button
and set a few key frames of the ball moving around in the viewport so
we can see it moving around with fire on it later on. What you should
have now is your object moving over around 100 frames.
Creation a fire in MAX2 by using a particles
Advantages: when using this procedure you will be able to fire all that
you want, including animation figure of people, trees and etc. Fire is
involve with moving an object and its possible mutate.
Material: you will take a package 3dsmaxr2 and little patiences when working
on the slow computer.

Engine Glow
This is a very easy effect to obtain. You can do a wonderful engine
glow without using Video Post and Lens Effects. (Though a nice subtle
lens flare and star field would be nice additions.) All of the parameters
can be animated without too many hassles. To do this, you will use a few
Volumetric Omni lights with activated attenuation and shadow parameters
Explore in space.
That it to be necessary for this action:
1. We shall create objects which we shall blow up. 2. In the section Create
of the command panel you will choose Space Warps and by means of button
create thr Bomb in an average part of each object
Explosion Tutorial
This tutorial explains how to make cool-looking explosions.
Explosion Tutorial
This is just a quick and an efficient way of doing nice explosions.
Explosion Tutorial
This is just a quick and an efficient way of doing nice explosions.
For this scene you will need 2 gizmo's, 3 omni lights and 1 lens flare.
First of all you will need 2 gizmo's : 1 box and 1 sphere.
Explosion Tutorial for 3D Studio MAX
For this tutorial I assume that you have the basic knowledge of the
3D Studio MAX surface. For this tutorial no plugins are required! I have
created the scene with 3D Studio MAX 2.
Explosion using Geometric/Deformable objects
Durring this tutorial i will trying and show you how to make a really
basic explosion using Geometric/Deformable objects in max v4. The frist
thing you need to do is creat an environment. A basic plain, some objects,
and a main object that will act as the exploding object. I like my exploding
things to be glassy, so i made a crystall ball (see crystall ball tutorial)
and placed it in the middle of my prepective view.
