Lighting Outdoor Scenes At Night
Exterior lighting is something we have less experience with in general,
so it stands to reason we may have less familiarity with the concept when
we try to create a digital scene using outdoor lighting, particularly
for night scenes.
Lighting The Museum Gallery Image
The Museum Gallery image is on my home page, and its lighting is an
excellent example of interior lighting technique in Bryce.
Lighting Tutorial
This a quick tutorial on lighting in Bryce. It starts with the light
setup I created using the settings from the default lights in Poser. It's
not a definitive guide and is certainly not very detailed. However, I
hope it gets you started on using lighting successfully in Bryce to simulate
radiosity and soft shadows.
Liquid in a Glass
This tutorial will show you how to put liquid in a glass. Use the techniques
here to put a liquid in your own glasses, bottles, buckets, etc.
make a cool planet
A planet is just a sphere (of course). Create it as you would any other
sphere by clicking the little ball on the Create pallette. Now the fun
starts. . .
Make Room
Today class we are going to make a basic room in Bryce.
Making 3D Objects In Bryce
Bryce 3D's modeling module is either mostly satisfactory or mostly unsatisfactory.
Its good points are that it supports full boolean operations and that
it is highly accurate. Add to this that you are provided with a wide range
of boolean primitives to work with and a goodly number of preconstructed
objects.
Making Chains
Making a length of chain using a Multi-Replicated Torus is easy - just
follow these steps.
Making Craters
Make moonscapes with these techniques.
Making Grass in Bryce
This is a tutorial made by me, Ryan Pitts, on how to make what I think
is a pretty close match to realistic grass in Bryce. Now, the only real
way, that I can think of, to get the simulation of thousands of little
blades of grass, is to actually have them. WHOAAA!!! Don't leave yet.
It's easier then you'd think. Now, I used Bryce 4 for this tutorial, but
3d and maybe 2 will work as well.
Making Materials In Bryce 4
First thing you'll need to do is make your texture. Using your favorite
paint program, open a new image that is 250 X 250. Apply any filters that
you like to achieve your texture...
Making Reptile Skin
For this month's foray into the digital domain, we are going to use
the Deep Texture Editor in Bryce 5 to create a reptile skin procedural
texture.
Making Surf in Bryce
If you've ever used Bryce, you've put water in your scenes, and the
water always looks great. It's a smooth, flat, absolutely perfect water
plane. In the real world though, water isn't flat. Even the calmest lake
actually undulates and ripples, and the ocean... well, there's nothing
flat about that.
Making Waves in Photoshop and Bryce
If your goal is a more realistic view of ocean swells, you’re
going to need more than a bump map. You’ll need to generate a 3D
model of the ocean’s surface and that’s the subject of this
tutorial.
Miracle Trees
This explains step by step how to create a "realistic" tree
in Bryce using two intersecting symmetrical lattice objects.
Misc Tips and Tricks
The BSolutions page contains tips and tricks you might find useful while
working with Bryce. It holds easter eggs and workarounds, and explains
some stuff that is not exactly self-evident.
Model an alien with Metaballs
In this tutorial, we will see how to use metaballs (nearly 50 of them)
to modelate a simple alien with inverted legs, simple "reptile-like
head" and a tail.
Modeling a Butterfly with Bryce and Photo Realistic Textures in Photoshop
For this tutorial you will need a fair understanding of Bryce 3D and
Photoshop, PSP or another painting program. A note to intermediate and
advanced users: I tried to make this tutorial as comprehensive and detailed
as possible for new users
Modeling a Sword in Bryce
You can make your own sword to hang on the wall or put in the hand of
the warrior you make with poser.
Modeling Chains in Bryce 3D Using Motion Paths and Null Objects
Motion paths in Bryce 3D aren't just for animating. Calyxa Omphalos
came up with the idea of using motion paths to model strings of
beads or pearls. This tutorial will show you how to model a chain
by linking chain links to a motion path.
