1955 Chevy Bel Air Tutorial
An extensive tutorial on how to model an automobile using various HyperNURBS
techniques in Cinema 4D XL v6.0+. The HTML version is finally complete
after an eternity of slow progress. The PDF version is done by Sarah Sanderson.
A Simple Bowl
This example introduces a few basic concepts in C4D:
setting up the windows to work in the "front" (XY) view
making a bowl cross section using splines and the points tool
lathing the cross section into a 3D bowl using NURBS
adding a wood shader to make it look like wood
changing the spline to modify the shape of the bowl
fiddling with the wood shader for different effects
An Alternative Cartoon Render Technique
As we all know, the cartoon renderer in Cinema4D XL v6 leaves a lot
to be desired. There's no control over line thickness, or solarizing amount,
and some shapes just look flat because the lines are only drawn around
single objects. You can try to overcome this by writing your own shaders,
but I discovered a technique that allows for a whole lot more control
without any special plugins or shaders.
Animated Pie Charts
Making an animated pie chart is incredibly easy with Cinema 4D. Cinema
4D's ability to interpret mathematical functions allows you to calculate
your percentages into angles quickly and efficiently.
Beginners guide to 3D-Cinema 4D GO Tutorial
This is the first in a series of 3D guides aimed at the small business
or home user wanting to get started in 3d, maybe wanting to animate a
company logo or add a bit more panache to a still image of the logo.
B-Spline Vase
In this tutorial we're going to use B-Splines and a Lathe NURBS object
to create a simple vase.
Character Creation in Cinema 4D XL V6 Tutorial Part 1
This will be a two part tutorial. The first section will show how to
create basic body parts and join them together and the second will show
how to shape the basic body into a character. Now don't take this tutorial
as "the only way" to do this you could make individual body
parts and shape them to be joined later and end up with a mix and match
collection ready to be used over and over. First thing to do is create
a cube then double click on its icon in object manager and change all
the segments to 2 except for Y make that 3. Now make that editable by
hitting the C key and then create a Hyper NURBS object and drag the cube
onto that in the object manager window you should then have this.
Character Creation in Cinema 4D XL V6 Tutorial Part 2
Welcome to the second part of this tutorial. In this part Steve Shanks
will show you how to really mold the character using some of the neat
tools in Cinema 4d XL V6.
Character Tutorials
The following tutorials deal with character modeling and animation with
Cinema 4D XL. I tried to lay down the important steps as good as possible,
but please keep in mind that there are always a lot of ways to achieve
a certain goal (which probably holds true for life in general). Play around
and find out what works best for you.

Cinema 4d XL6 Training CD c4d
Produced by the world famous Virtual Training Company, this new CD by
Matt Neutra provides the perfect introduction to all aspects of CINEMA
4D XL6.
City Scene
One simple way to create a cityscape is to model a few simple buildings
and duplicate them several times to achieve the illusion of a large city.
This tutorial takes a look at how to create and position buildings suitable
for a realistic, low-polygon city scene. In following cityscape tutorials,
we will add greater detail to the city and create a fly-through animation.
City Scene: Fountain
This tutorial will go through the steps of modeling and texturing a
basic fountain. XL users will get additional information on how to use
emitters to make their fountains work.
Close up Detailed Building
In this part of the tutorial, we will create a closely detailed building
for the camera to zoom in close. Therefore, this building needs to appear
much more detailed than any other building in the city while still keeping
a low polygon count
COFFEE Dialog Tutorial
This is one of the first is a series of Cinema4d scripting tutorials
targeted at introducing COFFEE. .
Coffee Table
We're going to use B-Splines and Cubic Splines to accomplish the coffee
table shown above. You'll be surprised at just how easy this is to accomplish.
Creating a Simple Faucet
This is a fast and simple method of creating a basic faucet with knobs
Creating Detailed Buildings for City Scene
At this point, we will focus on making the city more realistic looking
by creating a few more detailed buildings. These detailed buildings will
stand out against the plain buildings in our animation. They will be placed
closer to the camera to give the effect that, as you get closer to any
building in the city, you will see greater detail. It is unnecessary to
create each building in detail since the camera will not be zooming close
to every building in the city. At the end of this animation, the camera
will zoom in close to a door on building. Since the camera moves in extremely
close to this final building, it should be more detailed than any other
building in the scene. The following tutorials will focus on the creation
of a much more detailed building with landscaping and the animation procedure.
Eyeballs
This tutorial will take you through the steps of modeling, texturing,
and animating a pair of blinking eyes. The project is included so you
are welcome to add them to any character you've created.
Film Reel
This is the reel that will be used in conjunction with the film strip
and the projector tutorials. You will be creating one half of the
reel and then using a symmetry object to finish it off.
